Product description
The Sun is our central star, and observing its active surface provides a fascinating experience for astronomy enthusiasts. With Omegon Helievo solar filters, solar observation is straightforward and entirely safe. The filter arrives pre-assembled, allowing you to attach it to your telescope objective instantly without complex setup.
Reliable foil protection: Equipped with long-proven AstroSolar aperture filter foil, this filter prioritizes safety above all. With an attenuation factor of 100,000, only 0.001% of sunlight passes into the optical system, ensuring secure visual observation at all times.
Applications and recommended use: This filter is ideal for observing sunspots, solar flares, and surface granulation structures. It is also an essential tool for viewing solar eclipses as the Moon gradually covers the Sun's disk.
Safety guidelines for solar eclipses:
- Partial solar eclipse: While the Moon has not completely covered the Sun, the solar filter or protective cap must remain fitted on your telescope or binoculars.
- Total solar eclipse: Only when the last sunlight disappears behind the Moon's edge ("diamond ring" effect), the filter may be temporarily removed. Totality lasts only a few minutes. Remain vigilant: as soon as the "diamond ring" reappears, immediately place the filter back on the telescope!
- The same safety rules apply to eclipse glasses. For partial eclipses, protection must remain in place during the entire observation.
