Sky-Watcher Virtuoso GTi MC 127/1500 Telescope
The Sky-Watcher Virtuoso GTi MC 127/1500 telescope is a powerful yet remarkably compact optical instrument, ideal for high-resolution observations of planets and deep-sky objects. Utilizing a Maksutov-Cassegrain design with a 127mm aperture, it collects nearly twice as much light as a 90mm telescope, delivering exceptional contrast and detail. Paired with a computerized GoTo mount controllable via smartphone, this telescope is a perfect companion for both beginners and mobile astronomers.
Key Advantages
- Compact Optics with Long Focal Length: 127mm aperture in a tube only 33cm long.
- WiFi-Controlled GoTo System: Operate the telescope wirelessly using the free SynScan app for iOS and Android.
- Freedom-Find™ Dual Encoders: Manually move the telescope without losing its alignment or stored position.
- High-Contrast Imaging: Perfect for observing lunar details and planetary surfaces.
- Photography Ready: Integrated T-2 thread allows easy connection to SLR cameras for moon and nature photography.
Product Description
The MC 127/1500 optical tube offers a perfect balance of portability and performance. With a focal length of 1540mm, it provides high magnification and clarity, revealing intricate details on the disks of planets and the rugged lunar landscape. Its light-gathering capacity is 329x that of a dark-adapted human eye, making deep-sky observations of nebulae and galaxies highly rewarding.
Focusing is achieved via a side knob that moves the primary mirror, allowing for a wide focus range and compatibility with various accessories. The telescope features an elegant aesthetic with a shimmering black finish on the tube and finderscope. The Virtuoso GTi mount creates its own WiFi network, requiring no internet access once the control app is installed.
The mount features a tabletop design with a 3/8" thread on the base, allowing it to be attached directly to a photo tripod. The tube is mounted via a standard Vixen-style dovetail rail, making the system compatible with other optical tubes. At SkyHunters, we highlight that this telescope is also suitable for low-cost bird photography and nature watching thanks to its adaptable focal range.
