The stereomicroscope with Greenough optical design offers precise details of surface morphology without loss of spatial orientation, thereby ensuring high depth of field when observing three-dimensional objects.
The microscope smoothly changes magnification by a factor of 8.4 within a range of 6.5x to 55x, maintaining a working distance of 105 mm. It has built-in transmitted and reflected light illuminators for studying transparent and opaque objects. The microscope can be equipped with polarized light and darkfield accessories.
The camera within the digital microscope allows for recording the observation process along with interim and final results. The 18MP sensor provides the required resolution for the stereomicroscope. With a 1/2.3-inch sensor and a 0.5x adapter, the field of view of 18.9х14.2mm is visible on a computer screen at the lowest magnification of the microscope.
The microscope is used in restoration, assembly, quality control, as well as in zoology and botany.
Digital Camera
The affordable MAGUS CBF10 camera is suitable for work with a microscope lens” full range from 0.65x to 5.5x.
The sensor size is 1/2.3 inches. Thus, the digital microscope has a 0.5x adapter to enlarge the widescreen view on the display.
The 18MP sensor produces a realistic image of 4912x3684px. At this resolution, the frame rate is 13.1 frames per second, which is sufficient to adjust the focus of the microscope.
At resolutions 2456x1842px and 1228x922px, the frequency increases to 34.3 frames per second and 54.4 frames per second, respectively. Transitions between frames become smoother, capturing smaller movements of objects.
USB 3.0 provides 10 times faster data transfer speed than USB 2.0.
Microscope Head
The 360° rotatable trinocular head can be locked in the desired position. The digital camera is attached into the trinocular tube using a C-mount adapter.
The light path does not change. The splitting ratio is fixed: 80% for the eyepiece and 20% for the trinocular tube. The user sees the image simultaneously in the eyepieces and on the screen.
The basic configuration includes 10x/22mm eyepieces with diopter adjustment and eye relief for those wearing glasses.
Zoom Lens
The lens allows smooth change of magnification up to 8.4 times without losing focus while maintaining a large working distance of 105 mm. The microscope generates an upright (non-inverted) three-dimensional image. With accessory lenses, the microscope”s magnification range, field of view, and working distance can be adjusted.
Focusing Mechanism
Coaxial coarse and fine focus sliders set on both sides. Fine focus makes it easy to adjust the microscope at magnifications over 40x. Coarse focusing is adjustable.
Stage Plate
A matte glass or black-and-white plate is chosen depending on the sample. The matte glass plate ensures uniform lighting and optimal light diffusion when observing transparent and semi-transparent objects. The black-and-white plate is selected for viewing opaque objects against a contrasting background: the black side for light objects and the white side for dark objects.
Light Sources
The microscope has a 3W LED transmitted light illuminator and a 3W LED reflected light angle illuminator. LED lifespan is 50,000 hours.
Accessories
A wide selection of accessories is available for the microscope.
Eyepieces and auxiliary objective lenses extend the microscope”s magnification range.
Digital cameras transmit microscope images to the monitor.
C-mount adapters connect the camera to the microscope. The adapter magnification is chosen based on the camera sensor size.
Calibration jaws are used for measuring samples. Calibration jaws on stereomicroscopes have a scale value of 0.1 mm.
A polarizer/analyzer set is used for studying anisotropic samples.
A darkfield projector with gemstone clamp enables the examination of gemstones.
A ring light is used for shadow-free illumination in the workspace in reflected light.
A ring light with a polarizer is used to remove gloss from the reflected image of polished metal surfaces.
A mechanical stage allows smooth movement of samples without jerks along two axes and provides additional comfort for the user at magnifications over 20x.
For fine-tuning the lighting area, ring illumination and jointed lighting are used to adjust the lighting in the workspace. The light is directed at a selected angle to create the necessary light shadows for observations while a certain part of the sample remains illuminated.
Universal stands allow for expanding the workspace, providing more freedom in choosing the position of the microscope head above the workspace.
